The Pentode/Triode mode will allow for further power output reduction for home play. The amp run on fixed bias would be 24w and 18w in cathode mode. The amp configured with 6V6's will have smaller Mercury Magnets transformers which will make the amp lighter (saves about 7 lb.).
The configuration of the BluesMachine that I have outlined is one after discussion with Henry regarding my musical style and playing needs. high/low power switch, effects loop, Volume Tone, 6-way mode selector, gain, drive, level, reverb, presence, master volume, standby, pickup input switch, smooth switch, bias switch, footswich mid, drive and boost
They are both similarly priced as well.Ģ4w/18w -2圆V6, fixed or cathode biased, triode/pentode setting, solid state retifier, serial effects loop, 1x12 combo, 19"x19"x10.5", 42 lb. Both of these amps seemed to fit the bill through different means. I also want and amp that can give decent tone at more resonable home volumes. I need enough power to play over a drummer (my Allen can and my 5E3 can't really). I am looking for a light, grab and go combo to replace both of these that marrys the beautiful cleans of the BF with the touch responsive Tweed overdrive of the 5E3. I have been using an ultimate attenuator (actually a re-amp I believe) at home for some years now and its pretty good (definitely some loss).
My 5E3 is great but it as real difficulty keeping up with a drummer. My 22w Accomplice has been plenty loud to play out with. I mainly play blues both clean and overdriven. I currently have an Allen Accomplice (BF, Deluxe Reverb Clone) and a Lil-Dawg D-Lux (Tweed 5E3 Clone). I am a hobbyist player, who only plays out about a dozen times a year with some friends and the rest of the time, like many of you I am playing at home trying not to annoy my spouse. I'd be curious to hear feedback from owners or those of you familiar with these amps. I am trying to decide between these two amps.
